Pearson, an educational text-book publisher commissioned me to make the artwork for a three page comic on Noor Inayat Khan. The comic was written by Andrew David and was published in a text-book for grade 4 kids.
When I was in school, we used to have these riso printed textbooks with only one colour other than the basic black colour. Since most of my time there was spent looking at these textbooks, I often used to wonder how I would make a textbook if I was given those same two colour restrictions. The other colour mostly used to be a pale shade of blue or red and sometimes green.
So when Pearson commissioned me and Andrew to illustrate a story for the ICSE textbook for the 4th grade, I illustrated the story exactly how I had imagined I would illustrate a textbook back in school.
