Anton from Hennwack, an antique bookstore and cafe based in Berlin, commissioned me to create this illustration for the bookstore which was going to be used for their in-store merchandise like bookmarks and T-shirts.
The brief was to make the character based on Findus, the mischievous talking cat from the children's book series, Pettson and Findus, created by Swedish author and illustrator Sven Nordqvist. The background would be of the bookstore and the character carrying a bunch of materials around the store.
This is the draft sketch which I shared with Anton and the Hennwack team. This was selected and the final artwork was built based on this draft.
