Ogilvy India commissioned me to create the Coca-Cola Durga Puja campaign artworks. I was required to visualise different Bengali rhymes (provided by the team at Ogilvy Mumbai) through illustrations depicting young Bengali characters enjoying and having a good time at Durga Puja pandals.
I decided to draw inspiration for the artworks from my personal life and memories of visiting different Durga puja pandals during childhood. All the characters in the final illustrations are based on people I had seen and remembered at Puja pandals.
Ogilvy India Team:
Anuraag Bose (Art Director)
Tasneem (Co-ordinator)
Nikunj (Co-ordinator)

These were some of the initial character sketches and colour schemes I had worked on for the central four figures.

Based on the feedback of the initial sketches I made these round of sketches for the final artworks. These rough sketches were just to get an idea of the final composition and layout of the illustrations.

While working on the rough sketches I was simultaneously preparing rough colour compositions to set the colour scheme in place.

Once the sketches and colour scheme was finalised I worked on all the final illustrations traditionally with brush and ink and later composed them digitally. All the textures in the illustrations were also custom made from watercolour washes made by me.
This was done so that the illustrations were reminiscent of old Bengali picture book illustrations and advertisements which I had seen growing up.

These were the final artworks I handed over to the Ogilvy team. These were then designed into the layouts for the campaign. The campaign was used all across different cities in India.

Thank you for taking the time to go through the entire project.
